‘Vayama’ launch tomorrow in memory of Mangala
The second year remembrance of former Minister – Mangala Samaraweera will be marked with the launch of the book ‘Vayama’ written by Sujith Akkarawatte tomorrow (Aug. 24).
The launch will be held at 3.30pm at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Centre in Colombo.
The book will be presented to Mrs. Manel Ananthan, aunt of the late Mr. Samaraweera. Mrs. Ananthan, who is also the widow of the late world record holding swimmer – Mr. V.K. Ananthan, is said to have been one of the most influential figures in the late Mr. Samaraweera’s life.
Speeches will be delivered on the occasion by Dr. Mahesh Hapugoda, Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, Krishantha Cooray and the author himself.
The event will be made colourful by singer Niranjala Manjari.
