Six students from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura have been arrested on charges of assaulting and threatening a fellow student, Police said.
The arrests followed a complaint lodged with the Homagama Police, alleging that a third-year student from the Faculty of Technology was assaulted with helmets on April 29.
The students were taken into custody after they appeared at the Homagama Police Station yesterday (May 06).
The suspects, residents of Kirindiwela, Delgoda, Buttala, Kuliyapitiya and Kalankuttiya, are 22, 23 and 24 years old, Police said.
