The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has recorded statements from approximately 100 individuals as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of organized crime figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa, also known as Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne.
The high-profile killing took place on February 19 inside Courtroom No. 5 at the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court Complex in Colombo.
So far, 12 suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, and further investigations are underway.
The murder, which occurred in a heavily secured court complex, has raised serious concerns about security and the influence of organized crime in Sri Lanka.
Authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy behind the assassination.
