“No one can prevent Namal from becoming country’s leader” Featured

No one can prevent MP Namal Rajapaksa from becoming the country’s leader, says Kumarasiri Hettige, parliamentary affairs secretary to former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He made the comment at a meeting with political activists held in Nugegoda to discuss the anti-government protest they are planning to hold in Colombo on September 05, according to LankaCnews.

Hettige also said no one respecting human rights would approve of the curtailment of democratic rights of the four Rajapaksas through the 19th amendment to the constitution.

Such acts will one day boomerang on the present rulers, he said.

According to him, the people were prepared to give yet another mandate to Mahinda Rajapaksa, but the 19th amendment was hastily introduced to prevent that from happening.

That amendment also blocked the other Rajapaksas - Basil, Gotabhaya and Namal, he said.

Hettige went onto say that laws and harassments cannot prevent the forward journey of those who have won the hearts of the people.

A majority of the people want Mahinda Rajapaksa to take over the country’s custodianship.

The present regime has created trouble everywhere, including nonexistent trouble, and has now proved that it could no longer rule the country through lies, he said.

We are living in a country which is having a big mix-up in its leadership, he added.
