Religious rites held for dead jumbos (Pics)

Polonnaruwa wildlife officials say that they have found the 8th dead elephant that had drowned in the Thunmodara area of the Periyaru river near the Pudur village in Polonnaruwa.

A few days back, remains of seven elephants were found in the same location and were buried.

With the burial of the 8th elephant, deputy minister of Wildlife and officials had taken measures to hold religious rites with the Maha Sangha.
