The brother of Wijeweera’s widow Chitranganee Wijeweera was aged 73 and had been suffering from an ailment in both his kidneys.
According to another of his sisters, Shirani Mallika Fernando, Subhash had been staying at Paramitha elders’ home at Wanawasala for around three years.
A week earlier, he had transferred the ownership of his car and all other wealth to Shirani’s name.
He died instantly after jumping in front of the train and Shirani identified the body at Hunupitiya railway station.
At the postmortem examination, it was revealed he died due to injuries to his brain, stomach and chest.
The body is lying at Jayaratne funeral parlour.
The funeral is due to take place at Borella Kanatte at 4.00 pm today (07).
Subash leaves behind his wife Neela Doole and two sons.
