15 Dengue research books presented to Health Minister

Fifteen books on Dengue research written by Dr. S. Ratnasiri Bandara of the Kandy hospital was handed over to Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senaratne at the Nuwara-Eliya Hospital recently.

These research books are both in Sinhala and English. Dr. Bandara has undergone special training in dengue management in Thailand.

 Dr. Bandara said it has estimated that around 250,o000 people of 125 countries would die of dengue hemorrhagic fever within the next few years.

 He noted that the World Health Organization would be notified of this situation, adding that by introducing the drugs introduced through research, the death toll could be minimized.
