Central Cultural Fund becomes an elders’ home! Featured

The Central Cultural Fund has reportedly recruited Army, police and administrative service retirees as managers for 30 of its main projects.

Supervisor (administration) of the CCF, retired Rear Admiral Damien Feranado says they have been recruited on contract basis for seven projects which are underway.

The recruitment decision was taken by the previous governing board of the CCF, he says.

The respective projects already have officers-in-charge, but the new managers and duty officers have been recruited at an allowance of around Rs. 100,000 a month per person.

Among them are a retired Army major who is in charge of the Sigiriya project, and a retried ASP managing the Yapahuwa project.
