Speaker's powers can't be challenged – BASL

The Speaker has the authority to take a final decision regarding the no-confidence motion the UNP has handed over to him against Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa, who has been appointed as the Prime Minister, states Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).

The relevant authority has been given to the Speaker under Parliamentary standing orders and no one could challenge the authority of the Speaker within Parliament stated the President of the BASL U.R. de Silva.
