SLC terminates services of anti-corruption manager

The Sri Lanka Cricket has terminated the services of its anti-corruption and security manager Ayesh Weerakkody on an order by sports minister Faizer Mustafa, reports say.

The move comes despite the ongoing home series with England.

It is believed the termination of his services will disrupt investigations into an attempt to deposit of 5.5 million US dollars of broadcasting rights due to SLC to an offshore account.

However, the persons suspected of involvement have only been suspended from service.

According to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror, two key figures are to be questioned by the CID regarding the attempted fraud.
