UPFA MPs hurled chilli powder mixed water! (Pics)

(Update) - Senior UNP MP - Gamini Jayawickrama Perera said that UPFA MPs had assaulted them with bottles containing chilli powder mixed water in parliament today (16).

Noting that chilli mixed water had even hit his eye, the MP questioned whether it was such hooligans who sought votes from the public.

Speaking with the media, JVP MP Vijitha Herath had also been hit on the face by the Constitution which had been hurled across the Chamber.

He also showed how his white national suit had been splattered with a reddish liquid after the water hurled by the UPFA MPs had hit him.

He had spoken to 'The Hindu' as follows :

The UPFA MPs had been behaving in an unruly manner even before the session had started and live media feeds had spotted Mahinda Rajapaksa looking on at the commotion, apparently taking no measures to control his aides.

UPFA MPs were even seeing hurling objects at police personnel who had escorted in the Speaker and the Mace.

Speaking to media after the parliament session ended, UPFA MP - Kumara Welgama said that he regrets the series of incidents that took place in parliament.

MP Welgama added that although he believed a seasoned politician such as former president Mahinda Rajapaksa would never approve of such behaviour, such actions of his aids would reflect badly on Mr. Rajapaksa.

The following are several pics of injured policemen and Gamini Jayawickreme Perera.
