“Give SLFP leadership to able person” Featured

The organization for the protection of the SLFP urges president Maithripala Sirisena to give the party leadership to an able person, if he cannot perform its responsibilities properly.

The call by former Kaduwela mayor G.H. Buddhadasa came yesterday (25) afternoon at a media briefing convened by the organization.

Noting that the SLFP membership is being ignored by the SLPP, he asked the party leader to give the position to any of the many qualified persons.

Don’t let the SLFP suffer the same fate that befell the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna, he asked.

At the event attended by several SLFP electoral organizers, it was stressed that disciplinary action should be taken against party MPs who obtained the SLPP membership and that the SLFP should not ally with the SLPP at any future elections.
