The printing of the newspaper has now been suspended, as its sales had dropped from 30,000 copies to just 3,000 copies.
Directors of Rivira Media Consultants are Kasun Madhava and Dhumeera Dharmawardena, who are friends of Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Yoshitha.
They had been supported by two Ratwattes - Chula and Chanuka.
Later, Yoshitha and Chanaka got together to remove Chula from the company.
As there had been a lack of funding, urban councilor Priyanka Jayasekara, a friend of Basil Rajapaksa, had funded the newspaper in its final stages.
Staff journalists accuse Kasun and Dhumeera of getting together with Yoshitha and ruining the newspaper.
Rivira Media Consultants had sold parts of a CTB printing machine owned by Rivira Media Corporation.
