Beruwala drug trawler owner, similar to ‘Wele Suda’! Featured

The owner of the Trawler who was arrested over the transportation of over 230 kg of drugs, Dulip Silva, is said to be an agent distributing drugs from Sri Lanka to other countries, according to the Narcotics Prevention unit.

They said that this person is no better than the notorious drug kingpin ‘Wele Suda’.

The suspect had been distributing drugs to several countries by trawler with the assistance of several others and had been operating as an international distribution agent.

The Anti-Narcotics Unit said that he had been engaged in distributing drugs to India and several other countries in his trawlers on the pretext of transporting fish, on the advice of a drug dealer in Seychelles.

This suspect who has travelled widely is capable of communicating in five languages including English, Sinhala and Tamil.

In addition, he has also been involved in the distribution of Kerala Cannabis from India.

Currently, investigations are underway to determine the extent of the wealth he has amassed through his drug operations.

The Anti-Narcotics unit said that this suspect had also engaged in transporting Sri Lankan illegal migrants to Italy, Australia and several other countries, by trawler.

This individual has been acting as a social worker in the area and is known among the locals in Beruwela as a fishing businessman.

The Anti-Narcotics unit has also notified the Interpol regarding this suspect.
