Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province – Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon says that 24 active underworld gangs have been identified in the Western Province and 12 individuals identified as underworld leaders are currently living in Dubai.
He also mentioned that 300 persons have been identified as members of those 24 gangs.
He said that all police stations have been given the necessary information to arrest them and a mission will be implemented in Western Province round the clock to arrest them.
He also emphasized that measures will be taken to seek the assistance of Interpol and to intervene on diplomatic levels to bring back the underworld members in Dubai.
