More than 4,600 persons have been affected by flooding in Kilinochchi district following the overflowing of the Iranamadu and other tanks, says the district’s disaster management and military officers.
The highest number of affected, 2,550, are residents of Karachchi.
The displaced are being given shelter at seven camps.
