Asuntha absconding police after threatening Silumina Web Editor!

The complaint lodged regarding the death threats to the Silumina Web Editor Prabudhi Ranasinghe by the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha SLPP –Councillor Asuntha Parinda was scheduled to be taken up for examination by the Peliyagoda Police yesterday (08).

However, as the suspect councillor had evaded the police, the inquiry was postponed to 10.00 am today.

Journalist Prabudhi Ranasinghe had posted a comment on Face Book regarding the book distribution to low income school children at the Himbutuwelgoda Cyril Mathew grounds on January 01st. Being angered by the post, the suspect MP had stormed the shop belonging to Ranasinghe’s wife and abused her in indecent language and threatened to kill her husband.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Mirror attempted to contact the Provincial Councilor Asuntha Parinda, but our attempts proved futile as his phone was disconnected.
