Interpol enforces warrants to arrest Arjuna, Udayanga on sight! Featured

The Interpol Appeals Board had rejected last week, the two appeals filed by Arjuna Mahendran and Udayanga Weeratunge seeking the cancellation of the international red alerts imposed against them.

The Interpol had notified the Sri Lankan CID in writing regarding this decision.

The former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran had failed to appear in court over the Bond scam case and former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunge had failed to appear for the MiG transaction case, while Interpol red notices were issued by court for their arrest.

Mahendran and Udayanga had filed appeals in the Interpol Appeals Board challenging the two warrants against them. However, after long deliberation the Interpol Appeals Board rejected both appeals and enforced the arrest orders against them.

Accordingly, the Interpol, Sri Lanka Police and the police of any country they are hiding in, could now arrest them and have them deported to Sri Lanka, the police sources said.
