The order was issued when the case was called before Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) requested a renewed open warrant issued on Jaliya Wickramasuriya, but the Magistrate turned down the request.
The Magistrate further stated that although warrants have been issued previously, sleuths have not been able to arrest him.
As such, the magistrate has pointed out that there is no need of issuing any further warrants or extending the current one.
He has been accused of misappropriation of a sum of Rs. 5.17 million in purchasing a building for the Sri Lankan Embassy in the United States.
