Power cuts without prior notices - CEB

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) sources states that power outages will continue without prior notices curtailed since the water levels of the reservoirs are falling.

Such power cuts are necessary due to the lack of power generation to meet the demand.

It is said that the CEB deliberately refrain from restoring power outages for several hours to make electricity distribution sustainable.

Meanwhile, water level of six major power reservoirs that supply water to hydro power plants has decreased to 34.3 percent by this afternoon.

The water level of reservoirs stood as follows: Castlereagh 9%, Maussakele 26.5%, Kotmale 34.2%, Victoria 36.9%, Randenigala 88% and Samanalawewa 18%.
