Patali receives France-Lanka seat Featured

Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Mr. Patali Champika Ranawaka has been appointed the Chairman of France-Sri Lanka Parliamentary Friendship Association.

The appointment was made during a special session at the parliament held under the precedence of the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and the participation of the Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka, Mr Eric Lavertu and other French representatives.

Addressing the session, Minister Ranawaka stated that he highly appreciates the corporation of the French government towards development activities of Sri Lanka.

The construction of Multimodal Transport Hub which is funded through a grant from the French Treasury is currently underway and there are number of development initiatives launched in Anuradhapura and Matara districts with funds provided by the French government, he stated.

Minister Champika Ranawaka further sated that the new position will assist in further improvement of the corporation between the two countries and he will take further action to obtain the contribution of the French government in Sri Lanka's future development activities.
