CPC suspends its sales manager Featured

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has suspended its sales manager Chaminda Samarakoon following an initial investigation into charges against him.

He is allegedly responsible for corruption, irregularities and fraud committed during the Rajapaksa regime.

Samarakoon faces 17 charges, including misuse of Rs. 6.2 million of CPC money on the presidential election campaign and giving advertisements to a super motor cross.

In August 2015, he was transferred to Sapugaskanda refinery prior to an investigation against him, but he got it cancelled through the elections commissioner by claiming it to be an act of political revenge.
