"Don't bring loved ones to airport"

The Vice Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services Ltd. - Priyantha Kariyapperuma has urged air travellers not bring their loved ones to the airport, despite the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake being deemed as safe.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', he said a car park is open in the Naikanda area for those coming to pick up travellers landing in Sri Lanka and an airport bus shuttle service will transport travellers to this car park.

He added that it has been decided not to admit motor vehicles to the airport premises as a safety measure.

Visa offices closed

Meanwhile, several offices issuing visa to several offices have closed until further notice.

IVS Lanka providing visa to India and the VHS Global visa application centre, handling visa to Europe are among the offices closed, reports add.
