52 Russians give new lease of life to SL tourism

A group of 52 tourists from Russia reached the Katunayake International Airport from Moscow this morning, despite a significant drop in tourist arrivals.

They arrived at the Katunayake International Airport at 8.20 am today from the aircraft SU-6265 of Russian airlines.

The visitors said they heard about the current situation in Sri Lanka, however, they visited Sri Lanka as planned without any fear.

The Russian tourists are expected to spend 12 days in Sri Lanka and they will be staying in areas such as Weligama, Hikkaduwa and Bentota. In addition they will visit Sigiriya, Nuwara Eliya and Ella areas.

The tour was organized by a private travel promotions firm in Sri Lanka.
