Presidential Commission to hear evidence today

Complaints regarding fraud and corruption said to have taken place in state institutions between 2015-2018 is scheduled to be taken up today by the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate these allegations.

An officer of the Wildlife Conservation Department Rasika Abeyweera is scheduled to be called before the commission regarding the building rented out by the Agriculture Ministry paying a large sum as monthly rent.

The Presidential Commission had notified her to appear before the commission at 9.30 am today.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that the Agriculture Ministry Chief Accountant had also been notified to report to the Presidential Commission police unit to give a statement regarding this issue.

The building rented out by the Agriculture Ministry on the Rajagiriya-Sri Jayawardenapura Mawatha is obtained at a monthly rental of over Rs. 21 million.
