According to the Forest Conservation Department, 15 people were arrested in connection with setting forest fires.
Additional General of Forest Conservation Nishantha Edirisinghe said that the most number of people were arrested from Badulla in connection with forest fires.
He added that there has been an increase in the number of reserve-related fires reported in recent times.
