Samarasekara has been accused of removing and concealing evidence related to the murder of the rugby player.
The former JMO had been found to have destroyed and concealed vital evidence in the murder of Wasim Thajudeen.
Thajudeen was found dead on May 17 in 2012 inside his car which had crashed into a wall in Kirulapone.
Initially the Police said he was killed in an accident but later it was found he had been killed.
In June this year former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Anura Senanayake was served indictments over allegations he concealed evidence in the murder of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.
