The moneys amounting to Rs. 1130 million and assets belonging to the leader of the National Thawheed Jamaáth Organisation and the group responsible for the Easter Sunday suicide attacks has been frozen on the directives issued
by court based on the recommendations made to court by the CID.

The head of the CID- SSP Shani Abeysekara said that one billion rupees worth assets and 130 million in cash and bank deposits have been found belonging to this group.

Among the frozen assets are vehicles, houses, factories and jewellery.

He also noted that over 60 suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks.

According to CID sources, these suspects are being held under detention orders and interrogated and among them there are several women as well.
