‘Yahapaalanaya’ is nearing its end – Isura Devapriya Featured

Western province chief minister Isura Devapriya says the present ‘good governance’ regime is now nearing its end.

He made the claim during a conversation with ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa at the wedding of Dilini, the daughter of western provincial councilor Asoka Dayaratne, at Hotel Full Moon Garden in Katunayake.

Upon seeing Devapriya, Mahinda called to him, “Ah. Yahapaalana Emathithuma, come…come.”

The CM replied, “Oh, Sir, don’t say that. I am a SLFPer.”

Joining in, Prasanna Ranatunga said Devapriya was now doing astrological work too.

The CM agreed, “Yes, sir. I said previously too, that this ‘marriage’ will not work.”
Overhearing it, the bride’s father inquired about what he said.

MP Ananda Harischandra patted Dayaratne on the back and replied, “No. No. Manthrithuma, don’t get excited. We are talking about the ‘marriage of this government.’

Devapriya added, “I have been saying that this will not work. The two cannot go together like this. It is now nearing its end.”
