No owner for proposal to abolish Executive Presidency Featured

It is reported that there is a controversy over who presented the proposal to abolish Executive Presidency to the Special Cabinet Meeting held upon the request of President Maithripala Sirisena this afternoon (19 September).
A senior Minister told Sri Lanka Mirror that even though Minister Rauf Hakeem told the media that the proposal was presented by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, it was not so.

He said that although the Prime Minister does not object to the abolition of the Executive Presidency, the proposal was not presented by him.

However, when the proposal was taken up at the Special Cabinet Meeting today, there had been objections from minor parties.
