The Democratic National Front contesting under the symbol of the Eagle has placed its cash deposit today (September 25) for the Presidential election.
Accepting deposits for the Presidential election will end on October 6 at 12 noon.
Meanwhile, a preliminary round of discussions regarding the security of the Presidential election was held at the Elections Commission yesterday afternoon.
It is reported that the security for Rajagiriya Elections Commission and the surrounding areas during the handing over of nominations for the Presidential election on October 7 has been discussed at this meeting.
The Chairman of the Elections Commission has also instructed the police to remove posters, banners and cutouts of the candidates under the Presidential election Act.
The Elections Commission has also decided to collect information on the deceased and migrated voters to prevent misuse of the election ballots at the Presidential election.
The Election Commission requests the residents to inform the District Election Office or the Grama Niladhari of the area by October 5 the details pertaining to the eligible voters in your house from the 2018 registered voters list, who have died or migrated as at October 1.
