He is expected to meet with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena during his visit.
The Chinese official is expected to leave the country tomorrow, according to the Foreign Relations Ministry.
Meanwhile, top US diplomat Alice G. Wells is expected to arrive in the country on a two-day official visit today. During her visit she is set to hold a series of bilateral talks with top government officials, politicians, civil society representatives, and other parties.
The discussions would include human rights issues, democracy and focus on Indo-pacific and other issues facing this region, with the aim of achieving prosperity for this region.
Subsequent to her visit to Sri Lanka, Wells is scheduled to visit India and Pakistan, according to the US State Department sources.
Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow morning. According to the Foreign Ministry sources, during the Russian official’s visit to the country he is scheduled to hold a meeting with heads of state and high-level officials in Sri Lanka, stated the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
During bilateral discussions the Russian minister is expected to focus on economic, security, education, tourism and science and technology.
The Foreign Ministry noted that subsequent to their meetings, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena are scheduled to hold a joint media briefing.
