4 children among the arrivals from Wuhan (Pics) Featured

Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe said that there are 4 children among the 33 Sri Lankans who arrived in the island from Wuhan, China today (01 Feb).

According to Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe 16 adult women, 2 girls, 13 adult men and 2 boys have arrived in Sri Lanka this morning.

He further stated that, this group who arrived from Wuhan were to be quarantined for 14 days under the supervision of specialist doctors at the Diyatalawa Army Base Hospital.

Sri Lanka Army’s members of the Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Squadron qualified to deal with such biological or chemical emergencies has received the and transported them to Diyatalawa Army Base Hospital.

Vacation for the big bird

UL 1423 SriLankan Airlines flight , which brought 33 Sri Lankan students on board from Wuhan in China, is said to under go a special quarantine procedure and will not be used for scheduled flights for few days.

The plane landed at the Mattala airport this morning and the crew including pilots will be stationed at the Diyatalawa Quarantine Center for two weeks.

These measures have been taken to control the spread of the disease.

604 students have arrived

Sri Lanka's acting ambassador in Beijing K K Yoganathan said 604 Sri Lankan students have been sent to Sri Lanka.

Another 204 students are staying in China and they are planning to return to Sri Lanka within the next few days, he added.
