6 more cases of Covid-19 found

Six new cases of Covid-19 have been found in Sri Lanka, state media reports .

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Sri Lanka today to 10 and the total number of patients so far to 28.

SriLankan Airlines first officer tested positive

Meanwhile, reports say that the national carrier - SriLankan Airlines has requested some of its staff members to self quarantine after a First Officer tested positive for Covid-19.

He is among the 10 people found with the virus today.

The report was verified to 'Neth News' by media spokesperson of the airline - Deepal Perera.

It is also reported that this first First Officer had attended the recently concluded 'Battle of the Blues' between Royal College and St. Thomas' College.

Holiday not extended

Earlier in the evening, secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs S. Hettiarachchi said that the government will not extend the public holiday which was given today (16).

Addressing a press conference today at the Department of Government Information, he stated that a final decision will be taken on the matter after monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the Covid-19 threat, the Judicial Services Commission has issued a list of instructions in respect of Commercial High Court, Civil Appellate High Courts and District Courts.
