Most of our proposals implemented – GMOA

The majority of proposals presented by The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) to prevent COVID-19 had been implemented by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Government authorities and as a result COVID-19 has been controlled in Sri Lanka to the current level, GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge said.

Issuing a statement to Media he said that more proposals to prevent further spread of COVID-19 have already been presented to the Government.

According to Dr. Aluthge, decision making should not be delayed and taking prompt decisions immediately is required to control the disease. Long term plans should be made using the current experiences.

A self-sufficient food culture should be established in Sri Lanka and the people should be encouraged to go for a traditional eating pattern in order to improve their natural immunity, he added.
