4 more Covid-19 cases found ; universities to open on May

Four Covid-19 positive cases were identified in Sri Lanka today (12), bringing the total number of positive cases found so far to 203.

Fifty five cases have recovered so far while the death toll stands at 07.

Universities to reopen

Meanwhile, the University Grants Commision (UGC) announces that state universities set to recommence academic activities next month.

All state universities were temporarily closed due to the coronavirus outbreak in Sri Lanka.

The UGC says state universities will reopen for staff on May 04.

They will be open for final year students on May 11 and for all students on May 18, the UGC adds.
