Probe after woman visiting lodge shows Covid-19 symptoms Featured

An investigation is underway with regard to a woman with Covid-19 symptoms arriving at a lodge in the Homagama area, 'Neth News' reports.

The woman (45), a resident of the Alawwa area, has been accompanied by a man who had left the lodge yesterday (21).

The man is suspected to be from the Armed forces as police say they found Army uniforms from a travelling bag said to be belonging to him.

A search is underway to track him down, reports say.

The woman has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital after displaying Covid-19 symptoms.

Homagama Medical Officer - Dr. Jagath Kumara stated that the test results of the woman is to be received this morning (22).

This lodge had disregarded laws still prohibiting the opening of lodges in the wake of the Covid19 outbreak.

A young man who had worked at the lodge has been made to quarantine himself at the location.
