'Not compulsory for everyone to return to work' Featured

It is still not compulsory for all people to return to work, a senior government health official says.

In a statement, Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that it has not been made compulsory for all employees of an institution to report for work and the ability to limit the number of workers being summoned rests with the heads of these institutions, he said.

Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that accordingly, the number of employees working can be restricted.

It has also been emphasized that although the curfew has been relaxed throughout the country, it should not be viewed as a normalization of 100% of the country.

Although the country has relaxed islandwide curfew from today (26) onwards, it does not mean that the situation is completely back to normal, Dr. Jasinghe says.

A complete normalization of the country will only be possible if the public continues to adhere to instructions of the health authorities, he further notes.
