Lanka C News says even Hoole said not to vote for SLPP Featured

Lanka C News reports that Election Commission member Ratnajeevan Hoole has made a request to refrain from voting for Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna(SLPP) at the upcoming parliamentary election.

According to Lanka C News, he has stated that the SLPP is spreading falsehoods in the media against him using a local TV channel called 'Dan TV' that runs in the North.

It is said that he has asked the public not to vote for those who are opposing democracy by spreading such falsehoods.

He has said that he does not know Sinhala language and he does not know how to read garbage published in Sinhala.

He has alleged that some of the media supporting the SLPP are spreading a lot of false information.

He has further said that some people are saying that he will quit the election commission and that they think he will stop his activities after they say so.

However, legal sources say that the members of the Elections Commission cannot be removed until next November as per the 19th amendment to the Constitution.
