She said that she has instructed the Municipal Commissioner to conduct a full and impartial inquiry and recommend action to prevent a repetition.
Earlier, animal activists were outraged after social media posts revealed a dog named Bella who lived with two other dogs named Malli and Angel in the basement of Kess Salon in Rosemead Place for almost three years had gone missing. Bella was found with a broken leg at a pound in Borella.
Later in a Tweet, PM Mahinda Rajapaksa had said that he had spoken to Mrs. Senanayake with regard to this issue. "She has assured me that an inquiry will be held and if there are any to be held accountable, they will be dealt with," he had Tweeted.
