CID seals PNB production room as drugs go missing Featured

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has sealed a production room of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), over the allegation that thousands of kilos of heroin have been smuggled out to be sold, reports say.

It is said that the sealed production room contained heroin seized from major drug busts.

Meanwhile it is reported that the Ministry of Defence has also ordered to hold a stock take of the production room today (29) and tomorrow, under strict security measures.

Investigations have revealed that the genuine drug stocks are smuggled out of the production room to be sold while a concoction of flour and chemicals are sent as samples to the Analyst.

It is also learnt that corrupt officials of the PNB have been led thus by drug kingpins including 'Wele Suda' who is currently in prison.

Stocks of heroin seized at sea and on land are stored in this production room until sample reports of the Government Analyst are issued.

It is also singular that this production room is located in a highly secured floor just below the CID premises.

It is said that the officials of the production room are held at the PNB for questioning.
