Army intelligence , in conjunction with other units, have been conducting 24-hour operations to track down associates of COVID-19 patients, report Sri Lanka Army.
Troops of the Air Force, Police Intelligence and other security forces are searching for the associates of the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster.
In addition, the Public Health Inspectors' Association reveals that 2,686 of its staff are currently working 24 hours a day to control the spread of COVID-19.
Hidden Brandix employees will be arrested
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that action will be taken to arrest the employees of the Minuwangoda Brandix Company who did not come to the places informed by the police in violation of the quarantine orders.
Police Media Spokesman further stated that the police have the power to make arrests in accordance with the provisions of the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance and the provisions of the Police Penal Code.
Prior to the arrest they will be subjected to PCR tests and quarantine and treatment activities will be carried out according to the test results, he added.
This law applies to those employees as well as their associates identified during the past two weeks.
