2 arrested with gold worth over 40Mn. at BIA

Sri Lanka Customs today (Aug. 26) arrested two persons who tried to smuggle Rs.40 million worth of gold into the country at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

Customs has seized foreign liquor, various types of cigarettes, creams, vehicle spare parts, and surgical scissors.

These suspects arrived in Sri Lanka from India and investigations revealed that they were residents of Grandpass.

Further investigations are underway.
