2 Chinese women fined for illegally catching sea cucumbers
Wildlife officials have nabbed two female Chinese tourists who had illegally caught 03 sea cucumbers from the Hikkaduwa National Park.
The women, aged 55 and 33 had been staying in the Hikkaduwa area.
They were produced before the Galle Additional Magistrate and were subsequently fined Rs. 95,000 each, the Department of Wildlife Conservation says.
The captured sea cucumbers were later released into the Hikkaduwa National Park, the department adds.
