Out of the identified 02 million Aswesuma beneficiaries, payments have been initiated in stages for 1.5 million beneficiaries, State Finance Minister – Shehan Semasinghe has said.
Speaking at a PMC media briefing today (29), he said that under the 1st stage Rs. 4.395 billion has already been deposited into bank accounts of 689,803 beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the government has also stated that 02 state banks will remain open tomorrow (30) despite it being a Poya Day.
State Finance Minister – Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has said that this measure will be taken for Aswesuma beneficiaries to obtain their payments.
