A 20-year-old young man who was travelling on the roof of a train met with an accident near the Horape Railway Station.
The young man who was travelling on the roof of the train plying from Kandy to Colombo and had collided with the roof of the Horape Railway Station.
The victim who sustained grave injuries died at the Railway Station.
According to unconfirmed information, the deceased is a student of Moratuwa University’s Faculty of Engineering who is a resident of Moragoda in Gampaha, Police say.
Due to the strike launched last night (11) by the train drivers, train services were limited.
Accordingly, it was reported that many people were compelled to travel dangerously in overcrowded trains.
