The remains were handed over on the directives of the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer after the post-mortem examination was conducted.
NewsRadio Court correspondent said Colombo Additional Magistrate Neranjani De Silva who observed the scene of crime, had issued the directive.
The magisterial inquest into the death of ‘Makandure Madush’ was conducted earlier today.
‘Makandure Madush’ was killed this morning in a shootout at the Laksetha Sevana apartment complex in Maligawatta.
Police said Madush was taken to the apartment complex by officers attached to the Colombo Crimes Division in a bid to seize 22kg of heroin that were concealed by underworld figures.
According to Police, drug racketeers had opened fire at Police officers, and ‘Makandure Madush’ had been killed in the shootout.
