Covid-19 death toll in SL revised to 21

Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera says the death of the 27- year old from Panadura who had committed suicide, cannot be classified as a Covid-19 related death.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s Covid-19 death toll has been revised to 21.

In a statement, Dr. Samaraweera said although the 27-year-old individual had contracted the virus, it had not caused his death.

Earlier today, the government announced the death of the 27-year-old as the Covid-19 fatality in the country.
