Police spokesman, DIG Ajith Rohana said that they have received reports of employees in such areas being forced to report for work.
Noting that health authorities have designated these areas as risk zones, the DIG said that it was possible that any employee from such areas could arrive at the workplace as a carrier of Covid-19, which could then spread in the workplace.
Therefore, he urged them to be allowed to remain home.
The DIG also emphasised that no one is permitted to enter or leave the areas designated as isolated.
However, BOI & EDB approved projects in isolated areas permitted to function.
Although the quarantine curfew in the Western Province was lifted at 5.00am today (09), 25 police areas, the Kurunegala Municipal Council area and a Grama Niladhari Division in Panadura will remain as isolated areas.
