Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that Interpol assistance is being sought to nab the leader of the smuggling of heroin and ice found in the Marawila Thoduwawa area earlier this week.

The suspect is reportedly residing in Dubai.

During a raid conducted by the Excise officials with the assistance of Sri Lanka Navy on Sunday (06) in Marawila area four suspects were arrested with 100 kg of heroin and 100 kg of crystal methamphetamine (Ice).

This is the largest drug operation conducted by the Excise Department in its history and the value of the drugs seized is around Rs. 2100 million
